A Holistic & Tailored Approach
Our consultants consider your diet, lifestyle and medications to build an accurate picture of your health history. We can prescribe up to 20 herbs in each medicine, using over 500 herbs from our dispensary to ensure a completely personalised treatment.
Lifetime Achievement Award
We work within strict ethical and professional codes, supporting the regulation of medical herbalism alongside the EHTMPA and the BHMA. This dedication to standards was recognised in 2007 with our rarely granted Lifetime Achievement Award.

Our History
A Legacy That Began in 1908
Hyde's Herbal Clinic was founded in 1908 by Frederick Jesse Hyde and his wife, Maude Hyde, who established one of Leicester's pioneering medical herbal practices.
As demand for the practice grew, the clinic expanded from its original premises on St Peter's Road to its purpose-built home at 68 London Road, Leicester, which officially opened in 1934. This beautiful building remains the home of Hyde's Herbal Clinic today.
Advancing Herbal Medicine
Frederick Jesse Hyde's son, Frederick Fletcher Hyde, became one of the most influential figures in British herbal medicine.
After completing a degree in Chemistry and graduating with First Class Honours in Botany from the University of London, he dedicated his career not only to patient care but also to advancing the entire profession.

His tireless work helped establish professional standards for herbal medicine in the UK while protecting patients' freedom to choose natural, plant-based healthcare. In recognition of his extraordinary contribution, the British Herbal Medicine Association posthumously awarded him its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. The commemorative plaque remains proudly displayed within the clinic today, serving as a reminder of his lasting impact on herbal medicine.
